FLOCKS BABOONS
A PUBLIC INVOLVING PERFORMANCE
A group of 30 primary school children study behavioral structures in mice, snakes and Baboon families with a biologist and two performers at the Zoological garden in Cph. Each individual create their own personal Baboon story about being part of a group. In groups the students create a physical group story by continuously studying and mimicking baboons.
At the end of the workshop the group give a public involving performance to 100 other children at their school. The audience is seated on the floor scattered around a sports arena. 28 children performers enters from all sides around them wearing baboon masks and baboon babies on their hands. The baboon performers invite the audience to interact with them and become part of their Baboon flock.
