EARTH CORE
EARTH CORE!is a sensory, audience-engaging performance walk. A lyrical approach to geological and biological knowledge of the Earth's inner core, created from scientific theories about the Earth's formation. It draws on the theories of Danish seismologist Inge Lehmann regarding the composition of the Earth's layers and core, as well as Anne Marie Hammer's theories on the movement of soil organisms. It is also strongly inspired by Italian philosopher Emanuel Coccia's approach in his book The Life of Plants: A Metaphysics of Mixture.
Experience a journey to the Earth's core in a small, exclusive group. Dive, like roots, into the tough geological layers of the Earth and make bodily contact with the symbiotic life and movements of fungi and roots. The audience walks through 4 stations with performers, dancers, and singers, experiencing different audience constellations. Biological knowledge is anchored sensually in the body as the active audience is initiated into the life beneath the earth, from the inner core to the atmosphere.
