MUNKERUPHUS perforamance FOD FLUGT
An enlargement of a beautiful rose hip, a flower found along the Danish coasts. The Rosehip is considered to be an invasive species that is unusually resistant to extinction. The rosehip appears here as a positive allegory of the strength of refugees to find a foothold in a new country.
PERFORMANCE
The work is part of the performance walk FOD FLUGT, a sensorial audience-engaging experience of the Jews' flight to Sweden during World War II in the Gilleleje area. The Rosehip singers receive the fleeing audiences in "Sweden", place them under the beach rose flower leaves. While the singers walk around the audience singing and narrating in the rose, they spread the scent of roses.
The performance can be mentally hard to experience, and the last scene is a redemption..
